Mr Muhammad
In a video posted online months before the attack, Jigawa State Trooper Husseini Muhammad asked Nigerians to pray for the soldiers in the bush fighting to keep the area safe.
“Hello friends, guys, wonderful people, parents, everyone, this is the Forest of Mina, where bandits follow the village. We are already there.
“Therefore, we need a lot of prayers,” Mohammed said in the video. “Here we gave our lives for our people, our families and our country. We are here to save them, whether they are alive or dead.” . Muhammad's younger brother Bashir said that his late brother made the video after he moved from Rivers State to Niger State.
In the video, he said: “We are praying to return alive, so we need your prayers.
We will do our best to save many people and kill the thieves, bandits, kidnappers and rapists.
"My Fellow friends, I'm not in Port Harcourt City right now, I'm in the Forest of Niger State. I don't know when we'll be back. Please pray for us." Muhammad said,in the video.
Mr Muhammad was one of the soldiers who responded to reports of attacks on the mine. The military said they encountered an ambush by bandits who inflicted heavy casualties. He was survived by his wife, seven children and parents.
