Donald Trump supporters are now showing their "solidarity" with the former US President by donning bandages over their ears after he escaped an assassination attempt.

In an attempt to show their support for Donald Trump, Republican delegates and supporters have begun wearing fake ear bandages "in solidarity" with the previous US President, who just happened to survive an assassination attempt.

At Trump's event on Saturday, gunman Thomas Crooks opened fire, wounding the former president in his right ear and killing Corey Comperatore, 50. James Copenhaver, 74, and David Dutch, 57, were the other two injured parties; both are currently in stable condition. The goal of the investigation is still to determine why the shooting occurred.

Agents had him in their sights when the 20-year-old fired shots, and one of them pulled the trigger.

In his first public appearance since the shooting, Trump startled audiences on Monday at the Republican National Convention by greeting supporters while sporting a white bandage around his ear.

Delegates and guests demonstrated their support for Trump by posing for pictures with homemade "bandages" on their right ears, ranging from pieces of tape to folded slips of paper. This was done on the second night of the convention.

On the second night of the convention, Arizona delegate Joe Neglia was among the first people pictured with the bandage on his ears.

Neglia revealed to CBS News that he covered his right ear with an envelope that he had rolled up "on the bus on the way here".

This is the most recent style craze. I'm starting this now. Pretty soon, these will be worn by everyone on the planet, according to Neglia.
