Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria would not have overcome the economic challenges without removing the fuel subsidy on his first day in office. He proudly mentioned that governors are now receiving increased allocations.
The president highlighted that the removal of the fuel subsidy has made sufficient funding available for local governments and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to support students.
Tinubu expressed that the government is working towards a clear future for Nigeria and appreciates global developments teaching the lesson that Nigeria can build itself and help Africa grow.
He stated, "There is no way Nigeria could have survived the continuation of the fuel subsidy. There is no way; today, I can beat my chest and each of the governors here that allocations to the states are triple."
